A ranch in Utah where a wide variety of paranormal phenomena—UFOs, poltergeist activity, and cryptid sightings—are frequently reported.

Skinwalker Ranch is a roughly 500-acre property located near Ballard in Uintah County, Utah. In Navajo tradition, the land is said to be haunted by "skinwalkers"—malevolent shapeshifting entities.
From 1994 to 1996, the Sherman family, who had purchased the ranch, reported numerous paranormal experiences, including encounters with a massive wolf-like creature, luminous orbs floating in the air, unexplained cattle mutilations, and poltergeist activity.
In 1996, real estate magnate Robert Bigelow purchased the ranch and deployed a team from the National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) to conduct scientific investigations. In 2016, the property was sold to aerospace entrepreneur Brandon Fugal and became the subject of the History Channel reality series The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch.
The Shermans testified that a massive wolf-like animal was unaffected by rifle fire, that cattle were found surgically mutilated, and that blue orbs of light were seen moving across the ranch.
The Bigelow-funded NIDS scientific team investigated the ranch for eight years. Anomalous magnetic fluctuations and unexplained lights were reported, but the team was unable to obtain reproducible data.
In 2017, it was reported that as part of the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP), approximately $22 million in government funding had been allocated to research at Skinwalker Ranch starting in 2008.
